Mental Health Services
HELP Provider Partners specialize in mental health counseling and evaluations –
We are available to help those that are self-referred (people who are trying to get mental health services for themselves) or to get help for those close to them struggling with a number of mental health concerns (this includes agency referrals).
Importance of Mental Health Counseling
According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), 26.2% of Americans ages 18 and older suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder each year, making these disorders the number one cause of disability in the U.S.
These mental health disorders include conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, specific phobias, eating disorders, and substance abuse disorders – just to name a few.
Mental health counselors provide therapy and support for individuals and families trying to adapt to the changes the impact on their lives. Sometimes mental health counseling requires that counselors refer clients to doctors, such as psychiatrists or psychologists. But in most cases, mental health counseling helps the majority of individuals and families set goals, establish behaviors required to meet the goals, and monitors the sequence of behaviors that lead to successful goal attainment.
In-Home Counseling Services
In-Home Therapy is delivered by one or more members of a team consisting of professional and paraprofessional staff, offering a combination of medically necessary In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Training and Support. The main focus of In-Home Therapy Services is to ameliorate the mental health issues and strengthen the family structures and supports. In-Home Therapy Services are distinguished from traditional therapy in that services are delivered in the home and community; services include 24/7 urgent response capability on the part of the provider; the frequency and duration of a given session matches need and is not time limited; scheduling is flexible; services are expected to include the identification of natural supports and include coordination of care.
The home visit from mental health providers might be the only option open to many who suffer from a chronic disease, a physical or mental disability, or medical complications. As well, home visits provide access to mental health services for those older adults and elderly who are homebound.
In-home clinicians mental health providers can also provide the initial steps to receiving additional community services.
Telehealth Video Therapy
Telehealth is the “the use of electronic information, imaging and communications technologies, including interactive audio, video, data communications as well as store-and-forward technologies, to provide and support health care delivery, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, transfer of medical data and education when distance separates the customer and the health care provider.”
In the context of behavioral health, the term telehealth refers to utilizing videoconferencing technology to allow providers and customers at different locations to see and hear each other as though they were in the same room. Behavioral health is an ideal application for telehealth technology since clinical encounters are often centered on a dialog between provider and customer.

Office Visits
The office visit can be utilized for those who prefer the office setting.
Utilizing both the home and office visit is another option for those who have been homebound for an extended period of time.
Psychological Evaluations
Tests and assessments are two separate but related components of a psychological evaluation. Psychologists use both types of tools to help them arrive at a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Testing involves the use of formal tests such as questionnaires or checklists.
A psychological assessment can include numerous components such as norm-referenced psychological tests, informal tests and surveys, interview information, school or medical records, medical evaluation and observational data. Together, testing and assessment allows a psychologist to see the full picture of a person’s strengths and limitations.
